Dec. 7 United Contractors Midwest, Inc. hosted thousands of their employees, community leaders, sub contractors, Union officials and many elected officials for their 2017 Holiday celebration. As you filled out a name tag and proceeded into the banquet hall you were welcomed with a 20’X15′ banner. The banner (pictured above) had a unified message that seemed to solidify with all in attendance. “this is wrong” and “Rauner must go” echoed from many of the tables. While some of the union members reminisced of projects past and wished each others family’s a merry Christmas. That massive double sided banner was their to remind you of what you job was leaving. To spread the word about the HUGE shortfall in Illinois Highway Spending……or you wont have a job in the Illinois Highway Industry.
